"Happy Birthday" in Polish

How to say "Happy Birthda" in Polish? 

​Isn't it amusing that Happy Birthday in each country is said differently? In German it's "Alles Gute zum Geburtstag" and it means all the best for your birthday. In French it's "Joyeux anniversaire" and it's celebrating birthday anniversary whilst in Polish it's "Sto lat" and it's wishing someone to live to a 100 years.

Imagine you have your birthday.

It's your big 18 and you're spending it with your whole family.

​Your friends come over too and wish you a happy birthday. 

​Dialog 1

​Znajomi: Sto lat, sto lat!
Friends: Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!

Solenizant/ka: Dziękuję.
Birthday Person: Thank you.

Znajomi: Ile masz lat?
Friends: What age are you?

Solenizant/ka: Mam 18 (ośiemnaście).
Birthday Person: I'm 18 (eighteen).

Znajomi: Ale jesteś stary.
Friends: Oh, you're so old.

Solenizant/ka: Jesteś śmieszny...
Birthday Person: You're very funny...

Your grandad is having his 90th birthday and celebrates it with his family.
Grandson's mother: How would you wish your grandad happy birthday?

Wnuczek: Dziadku, sto lat, sto lat.
Grandson: Grandad, happy birthday, happy birthday.

Dziadek: Dziękuję.
Grandad: Thank you.

Wnuczek: Ile ty masz lat?
Grandson: What age are you?

Dziadek: Ja mam 90 lat.
Grandad: I'm 90 (ninety).

Wnuczek: Wow, ale jesteś stary.
Grandson: Wow, you're so old.

You're calling your best friend through your phone.

You usually remember the birthday dates of your close ones but this time...it may be different.

Friend 2: It's my birthday.

Friend 1: Birthday?

Znajoma 2: Tak dzisiaj są moje urodziny.
Friend 2: Yes it's my birthday today.

Znajoma 1: To sto lat!...
Friend 1: Oh, happy birthday!..

Znajoma 2: Ja mam 2 (dwa).
Friend 2: I'm 2 (two).
