Body parts in Polish

The lesson is inspired by real events taking place in a Polish hospital.

In these short dialogues you will learn how to talk about body parts in Polish.

Also you will learn how to explain your condiiton when you visit a doctor.

Do you know how to say "stomachache" in Polish? It might be a perfect excuse.

I hope our lessons will get you started with improving your Polish.

You are on the playing field.

Your friend wants to play with you, but you decline because of a stomachache.

Cześć!
Hey!

Cześć!
Hey!

Idziemy grać?
We're going to play?

Nie, boli mnie brzuch.
No, my stomach is sore.

Szkoda.
What a shame.
Language barriers

When going in for an appointment, I always have a rough idea of what I'm going to say.

Howevere when you are in a different country this gets a little tricky. I hope those short dialouges will help you to express yourself better when visiting a doctor in Poland.

Sometimes you may get a translator. This can be very helpful.

If you fail to express yourself in Polish using a lot of hand gestures can solve the problem :)

You are sitting on the bench, talking with your friend about your stomachache.

Hej.
Hi.

Hej.
Hi.

Byłeś u lekarza?
Have you been at the doctors?

Tak.
Yes.

Boli brzuch?
Stomach hurts (stomach is sore)?

Bardzo boli.
It hurts a lot.

One way to grab someone's attention to get treated quickly at the Emergency Department is to make a big entrance.
This guy knows how to do it best.

Pomocy!
Help!

Bardzo boli!
It is very sore!

Wszystko mnie boli!
Everything hurts!

Boli mnie ręka.
My hand is sore.

Boli mnie głowa.
My head is sore.

    Cześć!

My name is Luiza. I am a teacher of Polish. I teach Polish in our small family run school in the north of Poland and Online.

I love running, cyclling and adore anything that comes from Brazil.
